The 11 kits are still doing well. Mama fed them this morning, but 4 just did not look full enough for me, so I had Isabella nurse them before taking on her own clan of 6. She has always had more than enough milk for her brood. I did notice that there is only 1 solid and 10 brokens, instead of the 4 solids I thought I saw last night. Which makes me believe that Ethos might just be a hidden broken. I am going to be mixing up some supplement just in case, so the babies have plenty of milk to get them through these first few weeks.
Around 3pm today, Tallulah had her kits - we first counted the ones wiggling around - there was 11!! Then I checked in the piles of fur and straw and found an additional kit that was squished and dead. Then later in the evening as we were counting them again, I found yet another squished kit among the piles of fur. She had a total of 13 babies, unless there are even more hiding in the tremendous amount of fur that mama pulled. She was bred to Ethos, a REW. We found 7 brokens and 4 solids!
